Cookie Policy

This cookie policy refers exclusively to www.dolomis.it ("Website") and is to be understood as an integral part of its Privacy Policy.

Definitions, characteristics and enforcement

Cookies are small text files that websites you visit send and store on your computer or mobile device, to be transmitted back to the same websites on your next visit.

Thanks to cookies, a website remembers the user's actions and preferences (such as, for example, login data, language of choice, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be indicated again when the user returns to that website or navigates from one page to another.

Cookies, therefore, are used to perform computer authentication, monitor sessions, and store information regarding the activities of users accessing a website. They may also contain a unique identification code that enables tracking of the user's navigation within the website for statistical or advertising purposes.

While browsing a website, the user may also receive on his/her computer or mobile device cookies from websites or web servers other than the one he/she is visiting (so-called "third-party" cookies).

Certain operations could not be carried out without the use of cookies, which in certain cases are technically necessary for the website's operation.

There are various types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and these may remain on the user's computer or mobile device for different periods: so-called session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed; so-called persistent cookies, which remain on the user's device until a pre-determined expiry date.

Under current Italian law, express consent of the user is not always required to use cookies. In particular, "technical cookies", i.e. those used for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user, do not require such consent.

These are, in other words, cookies that are indispensable for the operation of the website or necessary to perform activities requested by the user.

Among technical cookies, which do not require express consent, the Italian Data Protection Authority (see "Provvedimento Individuazione delle modalità semplificate per l'informativa e l'acquisizione del consenso per l'uso dei cookie” (Provision for the identification of simplified procedures for information and acquisition of consent related to the use of cookies) of 8 May 2014, hereinafter only "Provision") also includes:

- "Analytics cookies" where used directly by the website operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the website;
- Navigation or session cookies (for authentication);
- Functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (e.g. language, products selected for purchase) to improve the service rendered to the user

"Profiling cookies", on the other hand, i.e. those aimed at creating user profiles and used for sending advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user when surfing the web, require the prior consent of the user.

Types of cookies used by the website

DOLOMIS S.R.L. uses cookies to provide its customers with a browsing experience tailored as closely as possible to their tastes and preferences. Cookies ensure that DOLOMIS S.R.L. does not have to receive or enter the same information each time you visit the website. Cookies are also used to optimise the performance of the website: indeed, they facilitate both the final purchase process and the quick search for specific elements and products within the website. DOLOMIS S.R.L. has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from possible loss and any form of unlawful processing.

First-party cookies

First-party cookies are cookies generated and used by the operator of the website that the user is browsing. These cookies, both technical and performance cookies, are limited: in the first case to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) that enable secure and efficient navigation of the website; in the second case used for statistical purposes to record unique users, content viewed or downloaded, etc., an example being Google Analytics. Data is stored anonymously and is used in aggregate form. In particular, to disable Google Analytics cookies, it is possible to use a special add-on made available by Google. To install it click here.

Third-party cookies

Third-party cookies, such as the one set by Facebook’s "Like" button, are cookies generated and used by parties other than the operator of the website that the user is browsing, based on contracts between the website owner and the relevant third party. Some advertisers use these cookies to track user visits to websites where they offer their services.

You can change your browser to disable cookies with a very simple procedure. Please note: by deactivating cookies, both user name and password will no longer be stored on the website's login box.

How to manage your cookie preferences also via your browser

The user can select which cookies to authorise through the specific procedure set out in the section Cookie settings, as well as authorise, block or delete (in whole or in part) cookies through the specific functions of the browser or the use of specific software. However, if all or some of the cookies are disabled, the website may not be accessible or some services or functions of the website may not be available or may not function properly and/or the user may be forced to change or manually enter certain information or preferences each time he/she visits the website.
